Francis improves but still can't win: Colorado starter Jeff Francis couldn't earn his first win since mid-June on Wednesday against the Diamondbacks despite pitching fairly well. Francis allowed three runs on six hits over six innings. He walked two and had two strikeouts.

Francis lost to the Nationals last week and that was definitely cause for concern. He looked better on Wednesday against a much better team so he might be starting to figure it out. You might want to start him in some mixed Fantasy leagues in Fantasy Week 21 (Aug. 18-24) as he pitches twice. His next scheduled start comes Tuesday at Los Angeles and he'll finish his week against Cincinnati.
